My angel...

Happy Friday - Hugs to everyone!

Hanky Daycare

Hank hasn't been the best student this week at camp - he has cried almost every day - as he didn't want to go. Doggy daycamp is $60.00 regardless of the days the dog attends - so Hank is being forced to go everyday. Tomorrow is spa day, and Hank needs it - he will get his hair done, nails clipped, and a long nap in the sun.

Picking Berries

Joe and I went over to mom and dad's tonight to water the garden, eat dinner, and walk through the trails. While we were walking through the trails, Joe noticed blackberries- and mom and I decided it would be worth it to pick them. It soon became a game how many blackberries we could all pick - and all four of us ignored the pricklies on the bush to fill up a bag of berries. Mom decided she would ride the tractor to go faster, and there were a couple of times we heard her say, "oh crap," and thought she was stuck, ran out of gas, or hit a tree - because she was flooring it. In the end, we picked 2 cups of berries - which is about $8.00 in the store. There were hundreds of berries, and in about another week - they will be ripe to pick again. I would like to make blackberry jam, but I dont have enough yet - so I will keep picking.

Tornado Burger

ace: What was going through your mind?

Hubbard: That I’m fixing to die.

Pace: Hubbard was thinking about making a run for the house but his friend talked him out of it.

Hubbard: I was scared. I was fixing to eat a hamburger and it took it! And I don’t even know where it’s at.

Pace: (incredulous) It took the hamburger right out of your hand?

Hubbard: Hamburger, fries and drink. I don’t know where it’s at

On a serious note those storms caused some massive damage as the report indicated. We wish the best for the families who suffered at the hands of the brutal weather. You can see the full report filed by Meg Pace for WAPT here.

UPDATE: Meg was kind enough to let us know that, “Amazingly everyone was ok in our area of Mississippi. Just structural (and burger) losses.” As a diligent reporter does she is on her way to catch up with Eric.

Funny for the day...

Always check your child's homework

Dear Mrs. Jones,

I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer.

I work at Home Depot and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it.

Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot.

From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Smith

Passing time....

Joe and I decided to get rid of cable TV - we haven't pulled the trigger yet - but we are preparing for tv-less nights. We decided to play a game with Hank to help pass time.

Rules: Pick one toy at a time and the last toy left has to be given away to the homeless doggies at the kennel.

Joe held Hank while I set up all his favorite toys.

All of Hank's best friends are below!

Only two left: Piggy and Dirty (Rat)
Piggy is left! Piggy was given to Hank by Grandpa Cesaretti - which he won in a claw machine at Wings' restaurant. After checking Piggy - I think she is too torn up to give away - so we won't give her away.
Life Lesson: Be creative with your time - there should never be a dull moment!

Sunday Feast

Sunday, Mom and Dad went to Caputos' and bought some good eats for our Sunday Feast ( as normal) - and it was amazing. Dad bought a whole bunch of red peppers, litterally a case of about 30 - for $2.00. We roasted them and served with sausage, and also made a dip with cream cheese and it was wonderful. The second picture is eggplant - it looks weird - but its really good and healthy for you.

Life Lesson: Let's be honest....food plays with our emotions!

Happy LiL 5!

Life Lesson: Don't get caught!

Monday...ugh!

No one wanted to get out of bed today - including Hank!

Cutest Dog Concert

Jessie sent me a link to send in pics to Marsh to be in the running for a $100.00 gift card to the cutest dog. I took some pics this weekend, but after looking at them, I think I need to ad a piece of grass/hay in his mouth, and a hanky hanging from his neck. Which one do you like best?

Hiding from the storm

We had very bad storms Monday night - enough to cause damage to houses in our neighborhood. Joe woke up from the storm and looked out the window. The second he looked out the window, a HUGE branch hit the window and Joe went flying on the bed, thinking a tree was falling in on us. I was out cold, and really didn't know what was going on, except the fact , Joe was jumping on the bed in the middle of the night. Needless to say, we woke up the next morning and found Hank hiding under the covers!

Life Lesson: Never underestimate mother nature.

New Ride

Check out Aunt Jessi's new car!

Weekend Recap

Since it is "spring break" - Joe and I decided to have a weekend get-a-way, and spend time with family. We went to Lake George in Michigan to stay with Kady, Tyson, and Jack at their parents lake house. We had a great time, however, leaving hanky was very hard - he was so sad, but he was very well behaved for grandma and grandpa clevenger. Here are some pictures from the weekend:

Joe and I were able to watch some of Shrek 3 in 3D - it's pretty amazing.

Joe and Tyson played Mr. Fix it - and fixed a number of things : the toilet, new shower head, and put up a new tv.
This Kid, Jack - is a little angel. He is growing up to be a little man, and has his own agenda now and knows what he wants and doesn't want. This weekend we discovered his love for Justin Bieber - literally "Bieber Fever." Jack no longer likes "itsy bitsy spider", and "wheels on the bus" music - he prefers Justin Bieber and Ludacris. Kady put kid songs on her IPAD and he would cry and make the "ut-uh" motion, but then Justin would come on the computer and he would be in a trance and love every second. It was a riot!

Life Lesson: Weekend get-a-ways are a necessity!

Bass Pro

Joe and I went to bass pro Sunday just to do something different. I actually enjoyed it, and hope to go back again - and bring some family members! It is a huge store, and we spend almost three hours in it. We also went to a seminar on fishing technique, and I thought I would fall asleep but the fisherman, Mark Zona - was actually pretty interesting. Joe also bought a new reel -so he is anxious to get onto the lake and use it!
Life Lesson: Never underestimate the fun a redneck can have! YEE-HAW!

Guess whose birthday it is today?????

Our little angel is 22 today! Tonight we are having a birthday party for him and both sets of grandparents are coming over. I am making sloppy "hanks" , with chips , and ice cream sandwiches for dessert. Now that Hank is 22 - he cant wait to go out to bars with his Aunt Jessie and Uncle Joey.
