My favorite prayer

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can;and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful worldas it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things rightif I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with HimForever in the next.Amen.

Life Lesson: Alter your worries to God.

Pumpkin Carving...

It has been a tradition 2 years now to carve pumpkins like the "pros do." Joe and Jon carved these pumpkins last night, while I cooked dinner and made apple dumplings. Joe had about three cups of coffee. Between that and all the sugar in the apple dumplings - he was focused on creating his masterpiece. Enjoy!
Life Lesson: Your never to old to carve a pumpkin!

Monday Morning...

Last night Hank was mad at Joe and I for leaving him most of the weekend. He got venegance by keeping Joe up most of the night by playing, trouting around the house, and begging to be let out. We finally got Hank to go to bed, and we woke up to find that he hid Joe's wallet.

Recap from the Weekend

Going to IU for the weekend brought back many memories..... and it made me want to be "forever young." No matter how old you are, you need to try to enjoy life. Everyone goes through stages of life at different times and I thought this video was appropriate for the daily life lesson. Listen to the words, they apply to all of us.

Last night Hanky couldnt get enough of cuddling. He laid on me a good portion of the night then moved to lay on Joe.

Lunchtime with Hank

Hank ate lunch with Joe and I today. Joe fed Hank a carrot. Hank enjoyed it, until Joe said, " Carrots are good for you Hank..." Hank proceeded to spit it out on the floor and decided anything is healthy isn't worth eating.

Derby Days

Joe and I had the pleasure to experience for the first time ever: Derby Days in Roanoke, IN. Our friends, Justin and Kristina invited us, and actually someone we knew someone in the powder puff derby, car #7. Derby Days are so entertaining and with such a distinguished group of people : hillbillies. We loved every second of it.

Friday Eve Fishin'

Works been so hectic and stressful lately - and tonight was the perfect night to cruise around on the lake and enjoy being away from work. The sun was shining but the air was cold - and the wind was colder. I had two towels wrapped around me, and was wearing pants and a sweater. Joe caught two fish, one which induced a panic attack...

Life Lesson: You ain't country if you can't touch a fish.

Recap from weekend

Joe and I went to the lake Sunday with our friends Chad and Skeilat and their two boys. Of course there was tons of food, and lots of barking on Brunos part. Atually, Bruno was almost in big trouble because he bit Christians hand enough to make it sweal up , because Bruno was in his "chair" and a 4 year old didn't know any better. After a day at the lake - Joe and I came home to watch Marmaduke.... great movie....

If you ever need a break from reality - watch Marmaduke - it will make you laugh.

Tuesday morning after a long party weekend , this is what our house looked like:

Always watch out for intruders...

Hank went crazy tonight when he saw a squirrel in the yard. It reminded me that Hank was just watching out for us and making sure nothing/no one was in our yard that wasn't suppose to be. Which reminds me, Aunt Jessie and Uncle Joey both have new houses, therefore a refresher course on safety won't hurt. :)
1. Always lock your door when you leave the house
2. If you give a friend a copy of the house key, make sure you trust them
3. Put your sticker name on all your high dollar items : radio, cd, computer
4. Don't tell anyone where you keep your money or valuables
5. Travel with someone else after dark
6. When leaving the work parking lot after dark, keep your phone in your hand and ask a coworker to watch you out
7. Park next to a street light at work when working night shifts
8. Raid is a cheaper option to pepper spray!
9. Put a ICE number in your phone
10. Pay attention to your surroundings.
